Where The Dreams Went: Latenight Poetry

Lost in the midst of finding herself.
Lying in trying to believe others.
Fighting in trying to stop this war.

This war between past and future.
This war that has cost her present.
Her mind racing, rewinding…unwinding.

Sadness behind a face of happiness.
Anger in front of a kind, fragile heart.
Thinking as she tries to save her dreams.

What were those dreams?
Who were in those dreams?
Where did it all go?

Out with the present,
as present as it was.
Past the future…

Are they changing?
Did they change?
To what…to who?

She can’t remember the present.
She can remember the past.
She can breathe and fear the future.
But her present is no longer that.

Lost in the midst of finding herself.
